Old people or older people at 55, you are past middle age and now it is time to look at what life brings next. Are you going to enjoy it or are you going to struggle through it?

I see daily struggles of older people just getting by. Why is this and what would make a person not want better for themselves? I have a few answers:

1. They are stupid and don’t know any better

2. They don’t know what is being offered today

3. They don’t know how to take advantage of life

4. They are secluded with out anyone to help them

I know most old people are not stupid, sometimes what is offered is hidden, taking advantage of life’s little pleasures is hard to get and you don’t have anyone to help you.

Here are a few things older people need to know. Old people can live in senior resorts like anyone and pay less than the normal rent. Say the normal rent is $3300 a month and you find a friend to live with you the second person cost is $450 a month. You both would pay $1875.00 dollars a month. This includes rent, utilities, food, entertainment, fitness room, socializing, med. Alert, concierges service and vacation travel at sister locations.

Now if you are a Veteran from WW11, Korea or Vietnam you might qualify to get a $1200 dollar living credit which would cut your portion of the rent to only $675.00 dollars. The only way you can find out about these great savings is to contact people who know how to get this for you.

• Senior Apartment Sharing (two people living in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment sharing only the living room and kitchen splitting the cost of everything with a sister, other family member or a friend.)

• Old people of the wars of past have what is call benefits (The Veterans have a program if qualified will allow around $1200 dollars for living expenses.)

• Give up your car, most of these places are so inclusive you can ride there bus to shopping, outings and appointments. Everything else is there in a professional environment for your safety and enjoyment.

Taking advantage of everything offered today is something adult children can help with by doing the leg work to retirement communities that offer the most to older people. Old people depending on their age have more problems in understanding the real, apples to apples of different retirement packages.

Take advantage of this you deserve it, because of what you have gone through and remember that you are not middle age anymore, you are old people.
